Lyrically Speaking Vol. 4

Gone

pain comes from deep within
thoughts of places that we’ve been
you left with just a simple word
and went about your way

now where do I go next
and in who do I have faith
you dropped off so very soon
and left me here all alone

what made you leave
who’s to say
if you’ll return
I’ll wait for that day
when you were here
my life had truth
but now your gone
and I don’t have you

We had so much planned
our whole lives ahead
seems we had to much
for your life’s way

what made you leave
who’s to say
if you’ll return
I’ll wait for that day
when you were here
my life had truth
but now your gone
and I don’t have you

now that I know
my life will move on
but inside of me
you’ll still be gone

of all our dreams
our hopes and goals
where you’ll be
is in memories

but I still don’t know

what made you leave
who’s to say
if you’ll return
I’ll wait for that day
when you were here
my life had truth
but now your gone
and I don’t have you

**WARNING**
This is one of the songs that I wrote when I was in a bad place in my life. Namely I was stuck in Iraq while my newborn kids were at home and I just wanted to go home to see them for the first time. This was a period in time when I didn’t understand God’s plan and I was emotionally tore up. Anyway there is one use of an off word in here so I just want to put that out there.

Hate This Place

I hate this place
I hate myself more
This pain is pulling me
Tearing up my life
And all I think about
Is finding something else

I can’t turn to you
I’ve been there before
I won’t speak the words
They’re too hard to say
You offer a way out of here
But I can’t go, so I stay

You can’t make me go
I won’t let you
You can’t force your will
I will fight from you
Just leave my thoughts
I’ll forget you
Please leave me alone
I want away from you

The torment here
Is brought from your will
I can’t go with you
You never looked out for me
Why do you persist?
When you never gave a shit

I won’t allow you to take me
I’ve seen this thing you say
This love of which you speak
Was never given to me anyway

When I called to you, you turned away
When I reached out, you pulled back
When I sought the truth, you hid your face
I won’t be caught in this little game

Lyrically Speaking - Vol 2

OK here is my second lyrics posting. This one is worship song.

Thank You

Alone in this life
I’d never find love
Then you stepped in
And you lit my world up
With just a look
You can melt my heart
With a few small words
You show me I’m saved

Everything I am
I owe to you
You gave me life
You showed me the truth
Within my heart
A song rises up
To give back in praise
For the life that you gave

Thank you, thank you
For all that you gave
Thank you, thank you
For the life that you saved

I just want say
That I don’t understand
The sacrifice you made
On Calvary that day
For none are worthy
Yet you died for all
And all are dirty
Yet still you call

Lyrically Speaking

OK, so this may be weird, but I have this large collection of Song lyrics I have written over the past few years. Now I am no musician, though I did sing in choir in HS, even doing a few solos(I am probably going to regret admitting that on the internet), but I do think I have a very creative side and if one day given the opportunity I think I could totally be a killer rock star.
Anyway where was I? Oh yeah, I have this large collection of lyrics… I feel like they are doing no good just sitting in files on my computer so I am going to start to post them here. If you come across them and like them and want to write a song with them, by all means go ahead, just credit me and make sure I get to hear it somehow. So here it goes.

Just as a warning not all the songs are “clean” meaning free of profanity. Some of them were written during a dark time in my life, i.e. when I was in Fallujah, Iraq, so they are a little dark. But today we will start with something light and easy.

Here are my first lyrics:

Look To Me

ON THE VERGE YOU STOP AND THINK
COULD THIS BE WHATS PLANNED FOR ME
YOU CHOOSE YOU ROAD THAN SECOND GUESS
THE WAY TO GO TO FIND YOURSELF

AT THE CROSSROADS OF LIFE
THERES HELP TO BE FOUND
REACH ON OUT AND LOOK AROUND
HANDS ARE THERE TO PULL YOU OUT

OPEN YOUR EYES AND OPEN YOUR SELF
I’LL BE THE ONE, THE ONE TO HELP
IN THE PAST YOU’VE BEEN THERE FOR ME
I’LL BE A ROCK ON WHICH YOU CAN LEAN
JUST OPEN AND SEE

IN THE MIDST OF ALL MY PAIN
THRU THE HAZE OF MY DESPAIR
YOU GAZE WAS EVER SO CLEAR
YOU KNEW MY DARKEST FEAR

I OPENED MY EYES AND OPENED MY SELF
YOU WERE THE ONE, THE ONE TO HELP
IN THE FUTURE I’LL BE THERE FOR YOU
YOU WERE A ROCK ON WHICH I BUILT
SO JUST OPEN AND SEE

(1ST CHOURUS)

WHEN WE OPEN OUR EYES
WE SEE EACH OTHER
OUR THOUGHTS ARE KINDERED
OUR HEARTS GROW TENDER
JUST LOOK TO ME I’LL LOOK TO YOU
AND WHEN YOU NEED IT…

JUST LOOK TO ME
